Jeff Sewald is an award-winning writer and filmmaker whose specialty is defining the cultural significance of people, places, things and events. Through the years, his work has brought him in contact with a host of luminaries: from NBC’s Tom Brokaw to Oscar®-winning film director Sidney Lumet; from pro football’s Mike Ditka to famed attorneys Alan Dershowitz and F. Lee Bailey; and from Pulitzer® Prize-winning novelist William Styron to rock music legends Lou Reed, Graham Nash, and many, many others.
Sewald’s career as a communicator and storyteller has included stints as a journalist penning feature articles and reviews, including profiles of regional, national and international celebrities and newsmakers, as well as speeches and position papers for executives and corporations, respectively. His experiences in visual media began with corporate video projects and led, ultimately, to a successful career of more than 20 years as a producer, writer and director of independent documentary films.
In addition to his print and broadcast expertise, Jeff Sewald possesses strong public-speaking skills, and has addressed some of America’s most venerable cultural institutions, including the National Arts Club in New York and the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center in Austin, Texas. In 2012, he was elected to membership in New York’s prestigious Century Association. Founded in 1847, the Century Club is a private society of authors and artists who share an interest in the propagation of fine arts and literature.
